During the school week, students participate in educational activities in the areas of Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Science, Health, Physical Education, Visual & Performing Arts, and Hawaiiana. Technology and critical thinking are integrated across the curriculum. Classroom teachers also provide appropriate instruction to students with unique needs and talents, including Special Education, English Language Learners, Gifted and Talented and Project BRIDGES.
Other student programs include: Student Council, Peer Mediatiors, Junior Police Officers (JPO), and Junior Library Assistants (JLA). Haha`ione also provides many opportunities for our students to participate in community service. Our goals are to create student leaders and a sense of civic responsibility.
In addition, Haha`ione provides qualifying students with an after-school care program called A-Plus, as well as an early morning care program provided by Kama`aina Kids. We also encourage programs to rent our facilities and offer enrichment opportunities to our children after-school. Examples include Japanese language, Mandarin, math tutoring, visual arts, hands-on science, and hula. For more information, please click on After School Programs.
